Pidurangala is an ancient Buddhist Temple in Pidurangala village of Matale District. The temple was constructed on a massive rock called Pidurangala,located a few kilometers north of the historical fort Sigiriya Rock. It is believed that the Pidurangala Vihara belongs to the 1st & 2nd Century BC, which is used as a Buddhist monastery during the reign of King Kashyapa.If you are fit and adventurous it is a climb worth making.
